COMMON FAILURES

Engine overheating

A temperature above normal means the engine is no longer shedding enough heat. Act quickly to avoid engine damage.

Possible causes

01

Low coolant

Even a slow leak lowers the coolant level and reduces cooling.

02

Cooling fan or thermostat

A cooling fan that fails to switch on or a stuck thermostat prevents temperature regulation.

03

Water pump or radiator

A worn pump or clogged radiator restricts coolant circulation.

Gauge in the red or steam under the bonnet: stop the engine and do not open the coolant cap while hot.
